WEEK 1 | “PRESENT HEARTS”
DAY 1
SUNDAY | APRIL 8, 2018
There are different kinds of grief. It can be clean, untinged by regret, or it can be complicated by the loss of a relationship that was broken or incomplete, and the loss evokes feelings of remorse.
We can grieve on behalf of the one who has died, on behalf of ourselves, or even on behalf of a future that will now be different and uncertain. Grief can be deep and long-lasting or brief and shallow. Mary’s grief was certainly deep, for she had loved Jesus greatly. She felt anguish for the terrible way he had died, for her own pain, and for the disorientation that overwhelmed her.
What signs of grief do you see in this passage?
What kinds of grief have you experienced?
