Everlasting November 17, 2025 Devotional
by David Joynt on November 17, 2025
LUKE 12:32-34 | 32 Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The contrast between devotion to personal accumulation and success, and devotion to God’s kingdom does not imply that temporal investments are always evil in some way. Temporal investments, with wise use of our creative capacities, our energy and efforts, and our capacity for leadership, can empower eternal investments! Temporal resources can drive kingdom purposes. God is pleased to “give us the kingdom” with its transcendent experiences of joy and love, when we exercise generosity and make strategic investments in His work. In so doing we become like Him, for He is the “giver of every good and perfect gift!”
Is God giving you an experience of His kingdom?
Gracious God,
The blessed life awaits those who become blessings to others. Help me to embrace it with faith and expectation.
Amen.
