Everlasting November 26, 2025 Devotional

ACTS 2:38b-40 | 38b Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him.” And he testified with many other arguments and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Repentance reflects a sober and honest assessment of our lives and characters without God’s grace and presence. It begins, as it were, with a great NO, a negative judgement about ourselves. But repentance is also rooted in positive desire, a tremendous YES. It is motivated by a belief that you and I can become clean and new, that we can be filled by God’s very Spirit and we are children of the promise, called by Him to be part of His marvelous family.

Salvation from delusion and death becomes salvation for a greater life in partnership with our Creator and Lord.

What have you said YES to?

Gracious God,

Remind me of the beautiful blessings of life in Your kingdom. Help me receive freedom from guilt and shame and create in me a clean heart, in which I sense Your divine call and wonderful partnerships.

Amen.
