Everlasting November 27, 2025 Devotional

ACTS 2:42 | 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Faith has to seep into the nooks and crannies of our lives, like butter on an English muffin. It cannot remain a theoretical commitment, but rather must shape routines, relationships, resources, and rhythms. The first Christians had practices, or devotions, that shaped their lives as individual parts of a community. They not only made a big commitment to Christ in faith, but made secondary commitments to each other. They learned together, connected, and formed friendships. They worshiped, prayed, shared meals, and resources. Thus, their schedules and habits had a holy shape. Their budgets were based on their faith. Their networks were rooted in their commitments to God and one another.
What are your secondary commitments like?
Gracious God,
Rule over the practical elements and daily decisions that shape my time and life. Help me be a practical disciple, whose regular practices root and grow my faith.
Amen.
