Everlasting November 28, 2025 Devotional

ACTS 2:43-45 | 43 Awe came upon everyone because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. 44All who believed were together and had all things in common; 45they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
Kingdom investment involves spiritual discernment and practical wisdom. The launch of the Christian movement was a unique moment. There was no existing framework, institutional paradigm, or set of inherited practices. There were no well-developed roles, no clerical orders or seminaries, and critically, no budget. The apostles were ready to lead, but in order to allow them to do so and to care for indigent converts, like widows and orphans, there were some dramatic acts of generosity.
As the church developed in settled locations, it received regular commitments of financial and personal support. There are still moments, however, when special problems or particular opportunities call for additional giving. Regular giving at VPC supports all our ministries and mission partnerships. Right now, we also have two special projects: the restoration of our Chapel, and the building of a Chapel at Lonjezo University in Malawi.
Do you have regular commitment to support a kingdom community? What special opportunity excites you?
Gracious God,
Grant us discernment about where, when, how, and how much to invest in Your kingdom work. Multiply what we give for Your glory.
Amen.
