Everyday Saints Devotional 58

LUKE 8:44| 44 She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his clothes, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped.
We don’t choose suffering. We do choose how we will respond to it. We can become martyrs. We can endure with a dignified resignation. We can submit to God’s will, trusting in an eventual healing. We can fight and seek a cure. The unnamed woman, with her perpetual hemorrhage, showed great persistence in pursuing a treatment. Continual disappointment did not stop her. When Jesus the healer came around she used the sizable crowd as cover and trusting in his power, grasped his garment. This took faith and courage. The cure was instantaneous.
Difficulties can make or break our characters and our faith.
What difficulties have shaped your character so that you more closely resemble Jesus?
