Everyday Saints Devotional 7

by David Joynt on January 08, 2022

MATTHEW 7:1 | 1 "Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.

Gratitude, as a practice, also prevents the acid of judgmentalism from corroding our hearts. An unduly critical spirit spoils our experience of our own lives. Currently in America, we hear much unbridled blanket criticism of our history. This is destructive. We have been far from perfect but hypercriticism is a form of judgmentalism. It is not mitigated or balanced by gratitude for all the many blessings we have inherited and all the sacrifices and hard work and accomplishments of previous generations. We then become ungracious in our discourse and unmeasured in our criticisms.

How do you distinguish discernment from judgmentalism?
