REVELATION 11:5-6 | 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes; anyone who wants to harm them must be killed in this manner. 6 They have authority to shut the sky, so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have authority over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 | 18 And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of
glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:16 | 16 So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.
God speaks for the second time, referring to the completion of His great plan and He does so in the past tense: “it is done.” Why speak of the future in the past tense? Because the consummation to come is certain once God decides upon it. Like a monarch whose instructions must be obeyed, His words are expressive and performative, they accomplish what they say.
John hears God declare He is making all things new. Paul insists that He is making us new, every day, from the inside out, changing us into creatures fit for a renewed cosmos, filled with divine love, glowing with divine energy, radiating divine glory.
Meditate on your future transformation.
Do you have confidence that it will happen?
