Get Real November 15 Devotional

1 PETER 3:21 | 21 And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A true and genuine witness operates out of a sense of heavenly authority. We are not sent to proclaim the truth of a story from the distant past, as compelling and wonderful as that story certainly is. We are sent in the name and authority of a currently reigning King. Behind our conversations and friendships and prayers is the greatest power in the universe. All other powers and authorities are subject finally to Him and their brief reigns are a nano-second compared to His everlasting one. True witnesses are unafraid—except for the fears they rightly and properly hold for those who do not understand the real power and authority of the One who sits at God’s right hand.
Meditate today on Jesus’ power.
Gracious God,
Thank You for sending us as witnesses in Your almighty name. At Your name the devil trembles, evil cowers, and the universe shouts in praise.
Amen.
