I Am Because You Are October 18, 2025 Devotional

JOHN 14:6c | ^6c No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This exclusive claim is rooted in some fairly specific realities. Jesus is the way, and His way includes specific forms of faith and practice, dependence on a particular text, the Bible, and connection to a     specific community, His church. This means other paths don’t have the specific elements needed for the journey from earth toward the kingdom of heaven. Jesus also reveals specific things about God that are unique and unprecedented. For instance, His portrayal of God as the Father who embraces the prodigal and carries His shame. To come to that Father you must know about Him, and to know you must learn from His Son. No other source teaches what Jesus does about God. Finally, no other prophet or figure can share His Spirit, which fills followers with love, the divine life. All other prophets speak and pass away. Only one is the continuing source of knowledge and divine power.

When you examine the many paths of multiple religions, you realize they lead to many different destinations. Do you agree?
