I Am Because You Are September 10, 2025 Devotional

PSALM 139:1-3, 11-12 | ¹O Lord, you have searched me and known me. ² You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. ³You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

¹¹ If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and night wraps itself around me,” ¹² even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you.

MATTHEW 25:31 | ³¹ When the Son of Man comes in his    glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

Psalm 139 describes the omnipresence and omniscience of God. He is present everywhere and aware continuously of everything and everyone in the universe. There is nowhere to escape His presence, and He discerns all our thoughts and emotions. Even the secrecy of the self is open to Him, completely.

Jesus is the light of the world because this comprehensive knowledge belongs to Him as well, and He will make it plain in a universal way at the Final Judgement. Then what only He knows about us will be brought to light, before the company of heaven and the contingent of humanity.

How do you picture God’s knowledge of your life? Are you prepared for its unveiling?

Gracious God,

Prepare me for the great exposure of the Final Judgement. Clothe me in Your righteousness. Purge me from habits and sins that diminish my soul. I ask in the name of Jesus.
