I Am Because You Are September 24, 2025 Devotional

JOHN 10:9 | ⁹ I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture.

MATTHEW 7:13-14 | ¹³ Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. ¹⁴ For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

This is a beautiful promise. All who enter through Christ are saved. No evil force can ultimately molest or harm them. They “find pasture” and no natural or historical power can disturb them.

So the narrow way of Matthew 7 is also a guaranteed way and can accommodate everyone who finds it. The way to death is broad and well-traveled, of course, because many don’t want to know the Shepherd, reject His voice, or they forgo His protection and leadership in order to pursue their own paths. The Shepherd invites, He encourages, He appeals, but He does not coerce anyone into His flock.

Help me stay in connection to Jesus and His flock. Let me follow the way leading to abundant life.
