Invitation, Week 2, Day 9
by David Joynt on October 14, 2019
2 TIMOTHY 1:7 | For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.
Think for a moment about the courage of Jesus. He could face determined opposition from the religious authorities, some of which had malicious intent. He dealt with mobs, who reacted to him with sudden violence, as the synagogue members did in Nazareth. He encountered and confronted various kinds of demonic powers. He responded to searching questions and determined doubters. He had the courage to move toward problems, including sickness, rivalry and ethnic division. He did not cower before secular powers, even when his life was at stake. He faced the loss of friends, the betrayal of disciples, the trauma of the cross.
His spirit lives in you!
Ask for the courage of Jesus to help you today.
