Lead Like Moses Devotional 20

by David Joynt on July 01, 2022

EXODUS 4:10 | 10 But Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor even now that you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

When considering a commitment, honesty and self-awareness are important. We must ask ourselves how our talents, passions, and experiences line up with a task or a job. Wanting to accomplish something and having the capacity to do so are two different things. Further, we must be honest about our fears and reservations—they are part of the equation.

Moses knew confronting the Pharaoh and leading a nation were tasks putting a premium on communication, and that this was a weak point for him. He raised the issue of whether it was a           disqualifying weakness.

Are you honest about your deficits?

Are you realistic about your talents and passions?
