Leadership and courage are connected. Anyone involved in leadership will face crises, unanticipated moments when there is an urgent and frightening problem. In our scripture today, Jesus is settling in for a seminar, preparing a Sunday School class, when suddenly He is faced with a life and death problem. An adulterous woman is about to face a quasi—judicial execution, and He must decide whether to help her and how to do so.
