Live Your Blessing February 4, 2026 Devotional

PSALM 8:3-4 | 3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are humans that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?

PSALM 139:1-3 | 1 Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.

The particular ways God blesses us can become a pattern for the way we can bless others. For example, there is the revolutionary reality that God notices us. He pays attention to us. The psalmist marvels that the Creator of the universe makes us a priority, focusing on our going out and coming in, our daily activities, and nighttime movements. In one sense, reality tells us we are simply temporary accidental creatures, specks of momentary dust, invisible vapors, our lives lasting briefly among a current human population of 8 billion on a small planet in a vast galaxy.

We can feel ignominious, inconsequential, and insignificant. But the Source of beauty, truth, and love pays constant attention to us.

How much and how well do you notice others?

Gracious God,

I marvel that you notice me, in all the minutes and moments of my life. You are attentive to my thoughts and feelings, to my soul and heart, as well as my actions. Help me to learn to be attentive to others.

Amen.
