Live Your Blessing February 5, 2026 Devotional

ISAIAH 49:15 |  ¹⁵ Can a woman forget her nursing child or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these might forget, yet I will not forget you.

How do you notice others? Our attention to other people can take many forms. We can evaluate them like they are an item for purchase, critically noticing flaws and imperfections. We can analyze them like a problem to be solved. We can leer at them as an object of our desire. We can see them indifferently, without empathy. We can also refuse to notice people, seeing past them, hearing without listening.

 God notices us the way a woman attends to her nursing child. There is something infinitely tender, life-giving, and so intimate about His regard for us. In a critical and competitive world, others need to be seen in this way by us.

Notice someone in a tender way today.

Gracious God,

Help me turn off the analytical and critical parts of my mind when I am around people. May I see them with a warm appreciation that communicates your affection.
