Live Your Blessing February 8, 2026 Devotional

GENESIS 24:13-14 | ¹³ I am standing here by the spring of water, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. ¹⁴ Let the young woman to whom I shall say, ‘Please offer your jar that I may drink,’ and who shall say, ‘Drink, and I will water your camels’—let her be the one whom you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I shall know that you have shown steadfast love to my master.”

Isaac needed a wife. He sent a reliable servant to search for her. This man devised a test for one, asking God for a sign at the moment of encounter. When his servant encountered her, he would  know she was the intended one if she gave him a drink and offered to water his camels. It was a sign of generosity, of blessing a stranger beyond what was expected or required.

When Rebekah appeared she drew water from the well for him and for his 12 camels! Camels drink over 30 gallons of water at a time. It was generosity beyond custom and courtesy.
This extra blessing changed Isaac's life, Rebekah's life, and salvation history itself.

When was the last time you watered someone’s camels?

Gracious God,

Give me a generous imagination. Help me see ways to go beyond custom and courtesy. Use my generosity for sacred purposes. I ask in the name of Jesus, who though rich, became poor for our sake.
