Everlasting November 1, 2025 Devotional
November 01, 2025
I love the prayers and poems and songs we call the psalms. They express the great range of human emotion and the variety of human fortune in ways that are honest, real, and beautiful. But prayer is different after Jesus! In Jesus’ life, we have the immense privilege of seeing God answer petitions personally and directly. If there was any doubt about whether God cares for our suffering before our Lord’s advent, then there should not be afterward. Jesus healed. Jesus comforted. Jesus reversed the processes of disease and decline and death. He restored the broken, freed the opposed, lifted guilt. In His resurrection, we see the solid basis for the great hope that God’s power can overcome everything that destroys life and that He will keep his promise to restore all things. We can pray with hope!
Are you hopeful when you pray?
Notice the all out intensity of Jairus’ appeal to Jesus.
