Questions Week 12, Day 4

The scope of scripture also helps me trust its wisdom. The Bible has 66 books and includes material and insights from many eras and multiple cultural settings. The sheer scope and variety of it is staggering, as it covers millennia, but yet it remains a single story, about a single great character, our amazing God and his redemption of this world. No other volume has this diversity and this unity.
Moreover, the originality of the Bible impresses me. The gospels are a new form of literature, and within them the parables are a new kind of communication. The Bible’s narratives, even when they draw on universal themes or traditional material, are distinctive.
Have you ever thought about the marvelous diversity, unity, and originality of the Bible?
