Questions Week 13, Day 3
by David Joynt on July 25, 2017
MATTHEW 17:1-8 | 2 PETER 1:16-18
The Story of the Transfiguration is an historical moment in Jesus’ life that indicates his continuity and connection with the scriptures of the Old Testament. When Moses and Elijah appear to Jesus, James, John, and Peter, this becomes evident. The O.T. is often described as the Torah, or Law, and the prophets. Here on the mountain, prior to his final week, Jesus meets with the greatest law giver, Moses, and the greatest prophet, Elijah. They affirm him in his mission and identity, and he acknowledges their importance.
If you had 20 minutes with Moses and Elijah what would you ask them?
FAMILY TIME—
Do you know any stories about Moses or Elijah?
