Questions Week 9 Day 3
by David Joynt on June 27, 2017
Heaven becomes more concrete and personal in the teaching of Jesus. It is a place of great intimacy, where followers are “one” with God and with Christ in a deep and everlasting way, connected as the members of the Trinity are, in a bond of love. Jesus uses the image of a large, many-roomed family home to describe this. Home is where our tensions ebb and our public personas are put away. At home, we are more our true selves, but in heaven we become who we were always meant to be. Our connections to one another are re-established, as they are at a family reunion, where those we’ve missed due to geography or circumstance are present once more. As we age, heaven becomes an increasingly familiar place! Those we’ve loved and learned from and committed to God will be part of our heavenly reunion!
What would our relationships be like without fear or ego or defensiveness or pride or jealousy? Heaven, or the Kingdom, is a place where there are no barriers to life or love.
