Real Devotional 31

JAMES 2:4 | Have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Using wealth, or any other arbitrary criteria to rank others introduces an ambiguous and sometimes arbitrary criteria into Christian community. But far worse, it misses the true way we evaluate others, a way that is completely independent of their wealth, status, race, or social standing.

The virtues we admire in the community of Jesus are humility, generosity, servanthood, sacrifice, integrity, faith, kindness, and love. These spiritual characteristics are independent of the other criteria used outside the church to assess others.

Do you judge others by their spiritual character?
