2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 | 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
On the cross, Jesus shared many awful elements of suffering which belong to the human experience. Other aspects were unique to Him. Paul suggests that Jesus bore our sin, carrying it and knowing it, though He was innocent and blameless. Sin is always a burden, manifesting as energy sapping and soul searing guilt and shame. Each of us carries this until we know God’s forgiveness. Jesus felt all the shame, guilt, and pain of all the brokenness of human beings, from the beginning to the end of time. This was why He felt separated from His Father, disconnected briefly, from the source of goodness, truth, and love.
Are you burdened?
