Stress Test Devotional May 5

MATTHEW 11:28 | ²⁸ Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Few things are more stressful than needing help and being shunted from person to person without receiving it. Automated phone systems, in particular, can create nervous breakdowns when each menu leads to another and your question or problem remains unaddressed.

Jesus does not direct us to a webpage or customer service. He offers personal help, “come to me.” The old hymn says: “O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.”
