2 CHRONICLES 2:13-14 | 13 I have dispatched Huram-abi, a skilled artisan endowed with understanding, 14 the son of one of the Danite women, his father a Tyrian. He is trained to work in gold, silver, bronze, iron, stone, and wood and in purple, blue, and crimson fabrics and fine linen and to do all sorts of engraving and execute any design that may be assigned him, with your artisans, the artisans of my lord, your father David.

One of the special powers of creative endeavors is connective, for the inspiration of beautiful things, and the exercise of skills in their creation, is universally recognizable.

A great soccer player inspires other players across every line of culture or loyalty and even impacts participants in other sports. Great musicians similarly touch and speak to others regardless of their background. Creatives always come from a specific culture but they can speak or work in cross-cultural ways.

Solomon asked the king of Tyre for help in the construction of the great Temple in Jerusalem. The king sent his best creative, Huram-abi. The collaborating yielded one of the ancient world’s seven wonders.

Have you experienced the connective and cross-cultural power of creativity?
