Thank God it's Monday Devotional 30

by David Joynt on October 03, 2022

PSALM 23:3b | 3bHe leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.

Shepherds and guides must help others find the righteous or right paths on their journeys. We have all gone down paths that led to dead ends or paths that took us round in a meaningless, time wasting circle. The right paths are the ones leading to health, wholeness, kingdom effectiveness, and salvation. The right paths lead to right relationships with God and others.

Guides must have discernment before they can help with direction. They need insight about others before they can aid with decisions. How is an individual’s life and heart marked by grace and marred by sin, as we all are? What is God telling someone about who they are and where they are going? Some life decisions fit neatly under the moral instructions of scripture. Some are more personal and vocational and must be tailored to particular burdens we bear and callings we embrace.

Who have been your guides?

Pray with me:

Gracious God, thank You for the gift of Your words, for heaven and earth will pass away and Your words will remain. In every season, in every time and place, we can trust Your truth, hear the ultimate vision, and know what is truly real. Amen.
