The Originals Week 1, Day 4
by David Joynt on January 10, 2018
Jesus' compatriots and contemporaries were sure that he was a
man. They traveled with him, spoke with him, argued with him,
and got to know his family. Only slowly did the divine side of
his nature strike them. When Jesus stilled the storm, raised
Lazarus from the dead, fed 5,000 people with one lunch pail, and
sent legions of evil scurrying for cover, their view began to
expand.
John had the deepest sense of Jesus' God side. He saw the divine
depth in the human character and he understood that this Lord
was with God from the beginning and would be in charge at the
end.
Do you skim the surface or see things at depth?
Is it easier for you to picture Jesus' full humanity or full divinity?
