The Originals, Week 1, Day 7
by David Joynt on January 13, 2018
John did more than observe and connect with others and with
Jesus. He was also focused on concrete simple acts of love. His
theological depth was matched by his practical talent for care.
As Jesus was dying, it was to John he turned for help in a sacred
and personal task. He asked John to care for his mother, Mary.
From the cross, he arranged an adoption and gave John the
special responsibility of protecting and nurturing Mary.
John's capacity for commitment and care made him trustworthy.
Are you trustworthy?
Has anyone ever trusted you with a loved one's welfare?
Do you excel more at profound depth or practical care?
