The Originals, Week 6, Day 6
by David Joynt on February 16, 2018
Families were the major economic and educational forces in first
century life. The oikonome was the family system of organizing
labor and production, and it was from this word we get our word
economy. Most communities did not have organized schools, and
so "home-schooling" was the norm. Further, families were, on
average, larger and multi-generational. Our contemporary families
also work and educate, but in general are small and outsource
much of our education. But families are still the greatest shapers
of individual life and character. They are a sacred part of
creation.
Do you think our family life is under pressure?
What are sources of this?
Pray for a family today.
