The Other Jesus, Week 1, Day 1
by David Joynt on June 03, 2018
Everyone acknowledges that Jesus was a great teacher. He taught for three years in an obscure location and his pupils were largely uneducated peasants, farmers, fishermen, and laborers. He never published a book or established a school, yet his teaching has generated thousands of schools and universities, and it has been debated by countless scholars, and followed by billions of disciples.
His unique teaching capacity was recognizable to his first listeners. He taught “as one with authority” in a way that was untypical. He also said things that were shocking and difficult, so much so that “many of his disciples turned back and no longer went with him.” (John 6:66)
