The Other Jesus, Week 3, Day 1
by David Joynt on June 17, 2018
Jesus attracted struggling people. Why was this? He made himself available to them by seeking them out, as he did with Zacchaeus, in Luke 19:1-9. Struggling people usually keep a low profile, particularly if ostracized by others. The woman at the well drew water in the hottest part of the day. Zacheus climbed a tree. Sometimes this is a “self-imposed exile” or voluntary isolation. On other occasions it is forced, as with the lepers or the demoniac chained in the graveyard in Luke 8:26-37.
Do you attract strugglers? If not, why not?
Have you ever sought out a struggler or sufferer?
