The Other Jesus, Week 3, Day 2
by David Joynt on June 18, 2018
Part of Jesus’ ability to attract the struggling and the hurting was his willingness to go and find them. A second attractor was how he responded when they found him. The woman in our story is courageous to go into the crowd with her hemorrhage, and also wants to get helped anonymously, without recognition. Jesus stops to value and affirm her. These moments when the needy come to him, interrupting, reveal much about his desire to help them. He was available on their terms and timing and not only his own. This was a draw indeed.
When has need come to you?
How did you respond?
