PHILIPPIANS 4:5 | 5 Let your patience be known to everyone. The Lord is near.
It is good to pray for patience! The causes of our impatience vary with our personalities and circumstances. Some are impatient for justice, others for the church to shake off its lethargy and rise. Some are frustrated in traffic jams or with “difficult people” or with politics. Some find limitation or ill-health hard to bear.
But Paul reminds us Jesus is near at hand. The patience He can provide and instill is unique. Remember, He was patient with the incessant needs and clamor that surrounded someone who gave answers and offered healing. He was patient with His disciples, even when they were stubborn, obtuse, or resistant. Moreover, He was patient with His enemies, when they were critical, devious, or even dangerous. God wants to give us that kind of patience.
How patient are you?
What makes you impatient?
Pray to receive patience.
