The Upside Down World, Week 11, Day 7

LUKE 11:13
This verse is profound. In our praying, there is much more going on than simply requests being made and answers being given. Prayer is meant to change us, to align our wills with God’s will.
God wants to help us with our daily needs and our small requests. Nothing is too minor to bring to Him. But He wants to give us the best gift more than anything else. He wants to bestow the ultimate present. The best gift is the gift of Himself. The ultimate present is the Holy Spirit—the deep sense of being filled, blessed, loved, forgiven, enfolded, and connected to our Father.
Sometimes we want a kazoo, and God wants us to experience a whole orchestra!
Do you pray for the Holy Spirit to be more deeply present in your character?
Do you ask for the freedom that comes with the Spirit? For the power?
FAMILY TIME— Read Galatians 5:22-23 together. Which Spirit fruit does each member long for most? Pray for one another’s spiritual desires.
