LUKE 12:45-47
Some leadership is not blessed by God. It is condemned. A leader entrusted with others’ welfare who is neglectful will be punished. In our parable, Jesus offers us a scenario where a leader given responsibility while his master is away, stops expecting his imminent return, and turns to dissipation, and indulgence, “eating and drinking and getting drunk.” Such a leader stops caring about his charges and their needs for support and sustenance and focuses exclusively on his own desires. This meets with the severest penalty!
