The Upside Down World, Week 5, Day 5
by David Joynt on October 12, 2017
The strength of the punishments and the scale of the rewards in this parable are meant to incentivize us and to emphasize the great value of the Kingdom. The Kingdom is worth our best efforts, our greatest concentration, our fullest creativity, our dearest expenditure. Unlike other investments, Kingdom ones last forever, rather than disappearing as the present becomes the past. Kingdom work, rather than deteriorating, will be made new and complete by God. Kingdom effort restores the harmony of creation, makes visible the purpose of God, and can stand against evil, corruption, and death.
How does Kingdom investment contrast with every other kind?
FAMILY TIME—
Show your children before and after pictures of something that was once beautiful and is now decrepit. (There are many connected to the recent floods.)
