The Upside Down World, Week 7, Day 1

“INVISIBLE PROGRESS”
In the Middle East, nearly everyone had their own garden. They will all be familiar with the mustard seed. In this region, the variety of mustard was the sinapsis nigra, the tiniest of all varieties. This miniscule black speck, however, had great growth capacity. Usually planted near a bordering field to accommodate its eventual size, mustard plants were colloquially called trees because they were often ten to twelve feet high.
The Kingdom of God seemed like a tiny speck within a fast empire to the first disciples, but Jesus here teaches about its incredible growth potential, predicting its subsequent spread around the globe. The great commission has been and is being enacted.
Has God ever helped something small in your life to enlarge?
Thank God for the breadth of his Kingdom.
