The Week That Changed The World Devotional March 2

MATTHEW 28:19-20 | 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
The authority question resonated throughout Jesus’ ministry. After His resurrection, it became even larger and more important. His last words in Matthew are a claim for universal authority. In an unambiguous way, He asserts royal and divine power over everyone and everything, not just in Israel, but in the entire creation.
But notice, as He claims this unprecedented power and authority, He dispenses it. You and I are sent in His name, with the royal and divine seal of approval, to build His kingdom and expand His rule. When we act in His direction we manifest His authority!
Do you feel empowered by His commission?
Gracious God,
Your authority is cosmic, global, local, and personal. Help me live as one commissioned to carry Your name.
Amen.
