JOHN 14:6 | ⁶ Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

We end the week with a meditation on life-enhancing and life-promoting practices. We keep the sixth command best by loving life rather than simply not destroying or diminishing it. Farmers promote life by raising food to feed others. Medical workers, therapists, and EMT’s restore health and so, restore and enhance lives. Pregnancy centers and adoption agencies help women bring little ones to birth, giving unique individuals chances to live and experience love and connection. Researchers develop cures and treatments, nutritionists and fitness instructors add years and value to the lives of those they coach. Teachers of the expressive arts, of music and drama for instance, deepen the capacity of others to know beauty and express truth. Teachers who nurture the gifts and callings of others prepare people for a more meaningful existence.

Let me find ways to promote and enhance life. I ask in the name of Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
