ACTS 1:8 | 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
We’ll conclude this week of devotion with two more wonderful uses of God’s precious name. One is witness; the calling we have to speak God’s truth on His behalf. The reality of life for many is that they live their hours and days without a sense of transcendence, without an awareness of God’s presence and reality. We speak into this void. We are awake to life’s spiritual aspects, to the truths of God’s word, to the kingdom He is constructing all around us. Led by His Spirit, we discern where others are, we listen to their questions, and in a spirit of love we share our lives and understanding.
The second use of His name is the associated benefits He receives when we live or serve unselfishly, demonstrating the reality of His care for others.
How are you using God’s name?
Gracious God,
Guide us to speak truth that convicts and converts, meeting people in their questions and problems. Fill us with determination to live fearlessly that You may be glorified.
