GENESIS 9:14-16| “When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
MATTHEW 11:28-30| "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Building things requires detailed instructions. Our architects, Jones Studio, and our builders, cannot proceed without approval by the town of Paradise Valley of construction drawings. These construction documents are very detailed building instructions. Noah got such instructions from God for the Ark complete with dimensions, materials, and number of decks.
When we are constructing our lives and communities, God has not left us without approved instructions. His laws encourage a way of life that empowers and enables us, protecting us from behaviors that degrade us or harm others.
That is why Jesus can describe the “yoke’ of life with him, following his commands, as a burden that is easy and light.
