JEREMIAH 29:12-13 | 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah reports God’s desire that we seek Him wholeheartedly. Every faith community is situated in a particular way and must assess its challenges and opportunities. God must be sought in particular places and situations.

The Israelites needed to seek God in the disaster of the exile. We must seek Him in the 21st century, amid our own problems and struggles. What are the opportunities created by COVID-19? By rampant and largely uninformed secularism? By mainline collapse?

I am certain there are chances to grow and develop, as people and as communities of faith, made possible by the “disasters” we are experiencing.

How is God at work in our 21st century challenges?
