VPC 2.0 Daily Devotional-43

ACTS 2:41| 41 So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.

Some of the impact of preaching and teaching is invisible. Weak resolve may be strengthened, confusion may give way to clarity, guilt is replaced by a sense of being forgiven and accepted. None of this is immediately visible in an outward sense.

But some of the impact of preaching and teaching is visible. Peter spoke at Pentecost and 3,000 people joined the Christian movement. A community of several hundred grew enormously overnight. This must have been very encouraging for the first disciples. Instead of crawling or inching into history, the church exploded.

New adherents vote with their feet and hearts. They bring new gifts, experiences, resources, and passions into the work of the communities they join. Such growth encourages additional growth because the network of contacts expands exponentially.

Are you praying for a season of growth at VPC?
