World Changing Words Devotional-Day 12

by David Joynt on August 13, 2020

ISAIAH 58:8-9 | 8 Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am. If you remove the yoke from among you, the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil.

True worship is marked by consistency, integration, and transformation. Acting to honor God’s name by undoing injustices results in a deeper experience of His healing presence. His direction (light), shines brighter and there is clarity about where we should go and what we should do. We pray more effectively since our desires line up with His will. We sense God goes with us, behind and before, and there is a new intimacy in our relationship. Our lives are not split into spheres of work, play, family life, and church. Instead, we find ourselves serving our Lord in every area.

What forms of justice are you seeking?

Do you sense that God goes before and behind you?
