World Changing Words Devotional-Day 22
by David Joynt on August 23, 2020
EZEKIEL 37:1-2 | 1 The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry.
There are dry bones places. Graveyards, despite their often beautiful landscapes and solemn architecture are locations built on absence and loss. Some hospital wards feel oppressive, as the struggle against dreadful diseases creates a telling atmosphere. Jail cells feel bereft of life with their artificial light and cramped walls.
There are dry bones moments in our lives too. When relationships turn rocky, when dreams wither, when movements or enterprises fail, we find ourselves with the prophet Ezekiel, surrounded by signs of death.
Do you have a dry bones place in your memory?
How about a dry bones moment?
