2020 Vision, Week 2, Day 14

ACTS 11:1-4 | Now the apostles and the believers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also accepted the word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him, saying, “Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?” Then Peter began to explain it to them, step by step, saying,...

Peter’s insight about the Gentiles was unwelcome back in Jerusalem. In fact, rumors of his actions had already made their way there and he was criticized immediately for eating with unclean Gentiles. Peter patiently explains his vision and personal encounter, emphasizing the profound change the Spirit brought to Cornelius’ family.

I love the way he shared the insight God had given him. When God speaks to any member of his church it can bless every member. Some messages may be individual and private but others are meant to be shared. When God gives you a new understanding, confirm it by sharing it with someone.

Why is this moment in church history so important?

Hint—there are 14.6 million people who identify as Jews in the world today, while there are over 2 billion Christians.

Thank God for changing Peter’s mind.
