PHILIPPIANS 1:3 | 3 I thank my God for every remembrance of you.
Players on the court or on the field or on the course benefit from the support of their fans. In England, fans are called “supporters.” Throughout the contest, cheers and shouts and chants give those competing encouragement and motivation. By custom, at the end of the game, the players remain on the field and cheer for the supporters!
Each of us have people in our past and present through whom we have been blessed and encouraged—they are our cheerleaders, mentors, teachers, caregivers, counselors, and partners. To think of them is to feel an immediate sense of gratitude and our memories of them generate smiles and lift our emotions. Paul was the same. He made it a practice, in prayer, to remember His supporters.
Recall three people today who bring you a smile.
Gracious God,
I thank You for _________ today. He/she loved and encouraged me, saw my potential, and helped me achieve it.
