Leading With an Honest Heart: Day 6

PROVERBS 12:19A

“TRUTHFUL LIPS ENDURE FOREVER!”

As we grow in the practice of honesty, benefits, as the accountants say, accrue. People are more real with us because they can count on a genuine response. Others trust us because they have seen a pattern of honesty in our statements. Progress begets progress, and gradually we become less prone to self-deception, less tempted to “spin” the truth, less likely to be silent when we should speak up. Honesty allows us to face problems more directly, and the strategy of denial loses its appeal.

What benefits of honesty have you seen?

Honesty is practice for heavenly relationships! Do you agree? Check out the penultimate sentence of 1 Corinthians 13“now I know only in part, then I will know fully, ever as I have been fully known.”
