MATTHEW 25:14 | 14 For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them;
Our financial priorities do reveal much about our hearts, and what we value and desire. But Jesus suggests that our uses and attitudes toward money also reveal the state of our souls. His revolution in understanding personal economics was to suggest that we needed to reframe the entire question. Rather than ask, “what do I want to do with my resources?” We should be asking, “how does God want me to use His resources?” Ultimate financial freedom involves a kind of total disinvestment. We relinquish ownership, mentally and emotionally of our portfolios, salaries, pension schemes, and fixed assets. We then give ourselves a new job title, manager of God’s assets!
In the parable of the talents, the servants take this step, of becoming responsible for the entrusted resources of the owner.
Do you see your resources as His, entrusted to you as manager?
